Scouts Rebrand 2018 Theme

Description

Free Wordpress Template for use by Scouting Groups in the UK.

Installation

This section describes how to install the plugin and get it working.

1. Download latest version of site theme - https://github.com/west-sussex-scouts/generic-wordpress-theme/archive/master.zip
2. Upload the plugin files to the /wp-content/themes/Scouting2018 directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.
3. Activate the Theme through the 'Themes' screen in WordPress

Setup

1. Install this theme to your Wordpress site
2. Set up the customization options (/wp-admin/customize.php?return=%2Fwp-admin%2Fthemes.php)
   1. Site Title = Name of your District / Group
   2. Charity Number = Your charity number (omit if not required)
   3. Social Media (see Social below)
      1. Twitter Name = @yourname eg. @WestSussexScout
      2. Facebook URL = Url of your Facebook page eg https://www.facebook.com/WSScouts
   4. Menu (see Menu below)
   5. Homepage (see Homepage below)

Social

This theme will add a social bar on the right hand side of the homepage. This can be customised in the 'Customize' options (detailed in Setup above).

If no social media sites are set up, the section will not be displayed.

Menu

This theme requires that a menu be set up.

Recommendation is:

Homepage

This theme includes a static homepage. You can configure which page this points to in 'Homepage settings' in the customize menu.
