We have the gitter chat room but maybe a mailing list too?

I've also made a slack group because it has a bit more functionality than the gitter room and it works for me to collect cool links to tweet too.

And finally there's a mailing list that anyone can join from here run through Mail Chimp.

@KirstieJane In order to get in touch with people, we can do it by going through people's reviews and ratings or by flowing a general Feedback form.

I've created a slack group for us mostly because it has a bit more functionality than the gitter room.

@amitkumarj441 - am I right that you're suggesting that we collect people's email addresses when they are added to the database, or if they leave a review, and in addition that we can have a "give us feedback" button/form on the webpage that anyone can leave information with? They both sounds great.

I guess the open question for me is whether we try to have a mailing list that goes back and forth (ie: everyone can email it) or whether we use people's emails for announcements etc, but the slack group/gitter for development discussion.

This point ties in really importantly with the issue (#21) asking who will use the app! I'm going to add some thoughts in there now...

Hi @KirstieJane,
That's what I'm asking you, both ideas sounds great. Let me know about the app platform, where are you going to publish this app.

Cheers,
Amit Kumar Jaiswal

Hi @amitkumarj441 - we're planning to make a website first, and then build an app once we have the website working appropriately. We're collecting suggestions on which platforms to build the database/website/app at issue #7 😃

I've made a mail chimp mailing list so we can send out updates (for example my talk that was at ADT on Thursday and the interview at opensource.com about the project!

You can join it here and I'll add the information to the website soon.

great idea, @KirstieJane! 🎆

I took a minute to draft up a default template for the emails in the mailchimp account. This will keep us looking pretty consistent aesthetically in terms of colors and style. Feel free to tweak as desired.
