Feature request: canvas / messages editable by several users

An implementation of a feature resembling Slack's canvas feature would be highly useful for our group.

In brief, a canvas serves as a note that is editable by different people and that can hold different content, such as to do lists, link lists etc. We use it as a means of introducing new members to a channel/stream and to keep track of main issues/to dos as a minimal project management tool. In Slack, a canvas can be accessed via a separate icon, so it's not part of the messages feed.

As a minimal implementation, a message that is editable by different users would go most of the way, particularly when combined with this request to pin messages on top of channels.

Of note, this feature is different from the already implemented channel description features, which is not readily accessible from main channel/stream and which is very limited in terms of formatting.

Edit: I only now say this request for community wiki posts, which would be terrific and address most points.

Thanks for the suggestion! Just to make sure you're aware, we currently have a collaborative todo list feature, which we'll be making more discoverable in #29779.

Thank you, great to hear to-do lists will get an overhaul! Right now the biggest limitation when using collaborative to do lists for us is that it's not possible to edit entries from others.
