Feature request: add option to fetch remote history periodically

I've previously used: https://github.com/magicmonty/bash-git-prompt

It was nice that by default after 5 minutes it would do a git fetch in the repository so your newest prompt would show if you were behind commits in the current branch from the remote.

Just search for GIT_PROMPT_FETCH_TIMEOUT in that repo for the implementation.
