Yes, this is what I meant by "more control".
It could be done easily through CSS if it was available to edit manually, but as you mentioned on one of the issues "you don't see it becoming a feature".
Personally, I think you could prevent requests like mine by letting users insert their own CSS properties that would overwrite the ones set in GUI.
