Swiping mpv control elements starts lagging video playback

Current Behavior

When using the Siri Remote (1.Gen) touch-area to swipe from one mpv control element to another, the video playback starts to seriously lag/stutter. I believe the audio is is not affected by this. This does not happen if you tap/click from one element to another. Only swipes cause this behavior. Normal video playback resumes when swiping is not happening.

Expected Behavior

When using the Siri remote together with the mpv player, swiping from one control element to another should not start lagging the video playback.
