ANd a visit to http://asnlookup.com/ yields the following:
This site can’t be reached
asnlookup.com refused to connect.

Is this tool and it's API site no longer viable?

Apologies for the inconvenience! The API has been overloaded by SaaS companies abusing it for free, so I am completely refactoring the code and service to mitigate this and a new version should be up sooner than later.

asnlookup.com has implemented Cloudflare and a Javascript challenge, so goodluck trying to get past that.
I'd suggest picking another ASN lookup provider
