Several users have ran into issues regarding preview, and in many cases it turns out to be a misunderstanding of how the feature works.

We should provide a comprehensive guide of how Preview is expected to work when using WPGraphQL, links to guides for various framework implementations and point out any known issues.

This should help users be more successful implementing the feature in their projects and reduce the maintenance and support burden.

  • using the asPreview argument

  • clicking the preview button to save preview data

    • mention the "right click" bug (no nonces are generated)

  • Authentication & Authorization

    • Testing in GraphiQL IDE
    • Links to how to auth in other frameworks (faust, gatsby, next, etc)

  • Preview with Gutenberg (bugs with meta)

  • Known issues?
