Deleting local backups and WAL logs #1648
Comments
Hi! Did you configure archive command? Is it functioning correctly, without errors in logs? Do you still observe wals? If wal file is not required for checkpoint or archiving Postgres will delete it.--Отправлено из мобильной Яндекс Почты23.02.2024, 22:17, "Theron Boerner" ***@***.***>:
Hi,
I'm having trouble figuring out how to delete local WALs and backups. Once I send data to archive I don't want to take up space locally with the backups. Any advice?

Hi I think I got confused. I didn't realize the database would limit the number of WALs kept locally. How does WAL-G handle the case when the same file name is reused by the database for a more recent WAL? |
Postgres cluster will never have wal with same name. Wal file name contains timeline id(number of cluster crash recoveries) and lsn. Lsn is 64bit byte address, when exhausted db is read only(but that’s a lot).--Отправлено из мобильной Яндекс Почты23.02.2024, 22:31, "Theron Boerner" ***@***.***>:
