The European standard EN 301 549 illustrates how WCAG and its principles can be applied to domains other than the web, e.g. to documents (chapter 9) and software (chapter 10). This standard has been adopted by the European Commission to be mandatory for public authorities and their websites, downloadable documents and mobile apps.

Regarding documents, we are considering some aspects for the "Content Author" curriculum to be developed. On the first (entry) page to the curricula there is a table outlining future curricula parts, with "document accessibility" currently penciled in. Not sure to what degree this relates to front-end developers but will discuss with others.

As to mobile, we consider that throughout all curricula. There may be room to do additional work on native apps more specifically but not sure to what degree this is in our purview given the vendor-specifics often associated. In any case, we will discuss this aspect too.
