Per our discussion on Element/IRC:

This is request for key focus tokens, and the the ability to pass key focus tokens to other UI components in some navigation system.

Definitely want to implement something here ! A general system of tokens that include but arn not limited to just the keyboard token !

Just to bring in parts of the discussion on IRC and Matrix, my specific request is click to focus on textfield and vdu overriding focus based on cursor position—in or out of the current window.
