support for downwardAPI volumes?

Is there planned support for downwardAPI based volume mounts?

This is currently preventing the deployment of argo workflows to virtual nodes in AKS. Being able to schedule long running, cron-based ETL workflows via argo into virtual nodes is a holy grail for us, so am mainly just curious if this issue has been discussed yet, and if not, could we get some discussion going around this?

Right now, we can get around the lack of support for some k8s fundamentals, like initContainers, dynamic PVCs, etc, but this missing volume type is actually a showstopper.

Thoughts?

I would like this too, for using tekton. Again, appears to be a showstopper right now.
