Hi everyone. I'm going to use ViroCore SDK in my new project to enable some AR features, and I have the same question as @hkkvo
about future of ViroCore SDK, can we expect any updates on next release, bugfix, support of new versions of ARCore? Please shed some light on your future plans?

Hey @hkkvo and @iTruff, Good news: I'm thinking of branching off a "ViroCore PRO" build to continue development for new bug fixes / new features / new ARCore version support.

I also have a few cool ideas I would like to implement to improve development speed and iteration (custom XML support for Viro 3D Controls, etc). Let me know if you have other ideas or neat features you would like to see!

To fund my efforts in continued development, ViroCore PRO would be implemented under a low-cost subscription license. There will be a public roadmap, together with Trello boards, and a list of feature requests that are scheduled to be implemented.

Would you be interested in ViroCore Pro?

I'll send out a questionnaire in Slack soon to gauge interests to see if this is worth pursuing or not, so stay tuned!

@dthian can you include this proposal for ViroReact?

@fraviloria Unfortunately not at the moment. Maybe later.
With the limited bandwidth I have, ViroCore would be my current focus.

Hi @dthian, thanks for response, great news. Hope I'll be able to persuade my manager to use "ViroCore PRO" :)
Btw, quick question, maybe you will be able to help me. I'm trying to calculate com.viro.core.Polygon area, is there any standard functions (didn't found anything by myself) to do that or I need to calculate it with my own algorithm? Thanks.

Hello @dthian, could you please confirm the status of the library? Is ViroCore SDK still actively maintained?

@dthian It would be great at least to integrate latest ARCore version to ViroCore or to guide us how to do this, because there is a bug in current version that prevents checking AR availability on device.

It would be nice if someone can do the maintain job https://virodevelopers.slack.com/archives/C8QAWPBMZ/p1605427112032600 otherwise it will die slowly

For those who are interested in a new ViroCore aar with support for ARCore 1.21.0 please look at this issue.

Maybe the maintainer @dthian @radvani should have a second maintainer to avoid a no-progress-state like sadly a lot of other projects have ?
