I was looking for a way to delete tagged files without moving them to trash. I thought using black hole register would do it but "_dd had the same effect as dd. Would love to get your thoughts on this idea.

Permanent deletion is done by DD/D<selector> keys or :delete! command.

The purpose of the black hole register is to prevent a command from populating any register. I get the association with permanent deletion but don't think it would be a good idea to change "_dd to mean permanent deletion mainly for compatibility reasons.
