Unsaved settings and other bugs

Upon starting up theShell, my resolution didn't save. Everything looked very broken, so I had to fix it. Some other settings don't save. For example, I like the Fusion theme, but upon restarting, it reverts.

Other things I noticed are that some items appear to cut off. The top part of the bar, the part with the time, all of those items cut off sometimes. The tS logo sometimes looks weird, and at times cutting off.

There are also some theming issues. With the Fusion theme (and possibly others), some items don't match with the rest of it, which looks pretty terrible. Also, when switching to Fusion (and.. probably others), other than Contemporary, the red buttons become blue.

Also, when using the gray or light theme, shouldn't the title bars and borders become white/gray as well?

My "Ahead of Time" bug is still apparent as well. Following up from that bug, if you type a number, or anything it doesn't recognize, it will by default set it to a minute (or whatever time unit you specified.)
Also, the timer icon doesn't show up.

And finally, even when theShell is installed, when I open the Gateway, it always shows that it should be installed.

Most of these are probably known, but I figured I'd bring attention to them even if they are known.

I'll also bring a few suggestions while I'm at it as well.
-While having a timer set, and the gateway end session confirmation set to fullscreen, it should tell you that you have a timer running.
-You should be able to access the "Terminate and Kill Apps" selection thing when you don't have the option to fullscreen as well.
-If a bug is closed, it should go into a different category on the tS Bug Reporting window, since it has the potential to clutter up the issues in the future.
-And finally, with the status bar, you should be able to have an option to have the bar be that small in general, instead of only when the bar is small enough.

I'll throw my two cents in to this conversation:
I'll add that I'm not entirely sure why your settings aren't being saved correctly. If you are on the latest update of theShell DE (I'm assuming you are), both Victor and I have recently made changes to infopanedropdown.cpp, but I doubt it's got anything to do with it. It's not something I could comment on without more information.

Items being cut off is also another strange issue I've personally never encountered but I strongly suspect it's got something to do with an irregular resolution setting. Again, I can't say much without more information, just a speculation.

Theming issues are normal and to be expected, especially when Fusion (and other themes) is a theme that isn't under Victor's direct control. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

As for the "Ahead of Time" bug that you reported, it is still present in theWave as of the latest update, however Victor has told me that he plans to rewrite theWave soon, so this issue will most likely be fixed then. In Victor's words; "The current version of theWave is on the verge of deprecation".

"And finally, even when theShell is installed, when I open the Gateway, it always shows that it should be installed." -- According to Victor, this is a known bug. I'm not sure when it'll be fixed, but he will get around to it eventually.

I do like the suggestions! Maybe if you have a timer, before you end your session it could say "You've still got a timer running: [timer]". There could possibly be some universal keyboard shortcut to access "Terminate and Kill Apps", but that's just an idea.

Requesting a close on this. A lot of the issues here have been addressed.

• Like I explained in my previous post, theming issues are to be expected as Victor doesn't handle the third party theme support.
• Ahead of Time #9 should really be closed since theWave is now discontinued.
• The "Install theShell OS" message stays after installation #34 (to my knowledge) has been fixed, however some confirmation from @vicr123 on that would be good.
• The timer suggestion you mention is/was already implemented.
• Bug reports are now handled differently at bugs.vicr123.com.
• Regarding the "always small bar", Victor is currently working on a feature called "Compact Bar", which is similar to what you requested.
