The script overall looks good! It would be possible to pass the repo and path_file arguments via command line? Maybe this could be also extended to years and owner.

If this is possible, it would be great to pass also a token (or more) via the command line. Fetching commits can take time, and the limit of unauthorized requests to the github API is limited (60 per hour if I'm not wrong).

This feature is necessary. I will look into this when I get time.
