I think this is bad in terms of UX, because if you have to edit a post deep down in the list. Then once you go edit it would bring you to top of the page. And after editing, you would probably have to scroll all the way down to see/find that memo again or look for others. Not to mention the trouble it would bring with scrolling on mobile(small) devices.
Also you would still have to use the same pop up like edit dialog, when editing in other pages like explore and timeline, since there is no create post like dialog/editor in those pages.
If you can give an alternative that would not harm UX, then I'm all ears.
I think I didn't precise enough my expectations and you're right about some points.
The pop-up editor is not the problem, as you said it is needed to work on every page. But in my opinion it should be with the same design as the native editor:
larger sized to adapt every screens
a bit higher also no to have to scroll every 2 sentences
