Frigate LXC container without Docker #2711
-
I've just managed to create a "script" with which you should be able to create a fully working Frigate LXC container, without Docker. I've described the process here: @tteck Would you be willing to accept this as a "Proxmox Helper Script"? Thanks! |

I personally don't use Frigate, but there have been numerous requests for a version that doesn't require Docker. While I can't confirm its efficacy or even if it works correctly, this version leverages hardware acceleration, USB passthrough, Coral drivers, TensorFlow, FFmpeg, and more—all without Docker. |

I’ve tried so many of NVR software, none of them were perfect: Shinobi, Viseron, AgentDvr. These apps have some nice features which I miss in Frigate. But Frigate does it’s job without nag-screens or counter-intuitive configs. I’ve decided upon to stick with Frigate. |

Well, I guess we'll see if it is functioning well enough. 🤞🏻 Adding to the website. |

Awesome stuff. Regarding the log files, Frigate stores them in |

Hi, installed the frigate lxc yesterday, so I guess I used the latest script available at the moment. I got this error message, which is already mentioned before, but everything seem to work ok:
I use proxmox 8.2. |

Should the "Docker Compose UP" be included in the bootup? At the moment it seems after I start the LXC I need to run "Docker compose up -detach" manually |

Good morning, I finally took the plunge and have just migrated from "Frigate Docker/LXC" to "Frigate LXC" (which I installed a few days ago) and everything is working correctly for the moment, thank you TTeck: ) For the moment, I don't see any difference in performance, it's still very good (I have a Coral TPU USB) Questions : 1) I also got the error message during the installation, does this have an impact somewhere or should I forget it?
2) Since version 0.13.0 access to the Go2RTC API is disabled by default:
However, with this version of Frigate LXC, access to Go2RTC is activated by default, how can you deactivate/activate it if you are not using it in order to secure local flows (there is no identification for Go2RTC )? Do you just have to create a rule with the firewall with the proxmox graphical interface on the LXC container (in, reject, etc...) and if so do you have an example? thanks again |

There is a problem with OpenVINO in frigate on proxmox with kernel 6.8. Rolling back to kernel 6.5 restores functionality. |

Good morning, Go2RTC 1.9.2 has just been released, how to update it? By relaunching the script on the container, it does not offer an update.
I found this, but it's for the LXC Go2RTC container only, on the Frigate LXC Container, Go2RTC doesn't seem to be installed in the same place. THANKS |

Has anyone successfully gotten frigate lxc working with a supported nvidia gpu for both decoding and also object detection? I quickly got frigate lxc running to test and now want to setup another frigatelxc container and get the nvidia gpu working with it. I have been reading documentation that is scattered and am uncertain how to proceed to get nvidia working with this roll out of frigate lxc. In the frigate docs on page https://docs.frigate.video/configuration/object_detectors it identifies: What would be the steps to get the tensorrt image or the TensorRT libraries working with frigatelxc or through any other means? Thank you |

I am running the lxc with a coral tpu, usb version. Is it normal to get this log?
I mean, I was using openVINO as a detector before switching to coral a couple of days back. Is it normal to get this openCV exception now with coral? When I was using openVINO for detection, I was getting numerous crashes like this, because of the known bug with proxmox 6.8 kernel. |

This works great for me out of the box, with the exception of streams added to go2rtc not persisting after restart. Tried updating /dev/shm/go2rtc.yaml but changes still don't persist. It's an RTMP stream. No issues with standalone go2rtc container. Anyone else having the same issue? |

I get crashes every 2-3 days or so, probably because of memory leak. I have a usb coral, but I don't think it's because of usb disconnection. My coral tpu seems steady. On the other hand I see memory usage constantly getting higher and higher and even 4GB allocated to the lxc seem not enough.
