On recent versions of TrueOS Edge, applications using OpenJFX8 can't properly display text. Numbers work, but not text. The application I'm using is SportsTracker (not from ports), and I haven't updated its jars for about 1.5 years. The problem was introduced by a TrueOS upgrade sometime between 3-March-2018 and now.

Rebuilding openjfx8-devel from svn, with or without SWT, does not fix the problem. I'm afraid my Java skills may not be sufficient to debug this one.

The problem is not specific to SportsTracker; I've reproduced it with all the OpenJFX demo applications. However, I cannot reproduce it on FreeBSD 12. This seems to be a TrueOS-specific bug.
