In the wildfire example (http://wildfire.kyrixdemo.live), map images in the lowest zoom level (highest resolution) look to be broken.

Thanks! Yea it's because the openstreetmap tiles do not exist for the finest zoom levels. It's an open question as to how we stop the user from zooming further in these situations.

Ah, I see. Thank you for answering! Would either limiting the zoom level (disallow going beyond the predefined zoom level just like in GMaps) or stretching the highest resolution image when it exceeds the lowest level be a feasible solution for that?

Right - we can limit the predefined # of zoom levels, which'll be the quickest fix. But it seems like OSM has different # of zoom levels in different places, which'll require something like the second solution you proposed.
