Broken app install by shortcode

Description
App shortcodes break the search popup.

To Reproduce
Try typing or pasting an app "shortcode" (e.g. ~paldev/pals) and observe the search popup breaks and goes unresponsive.
The search bar collapses into a thin line with no visible text or inner elements.
This bug occurs when the fas / character is entered after a patp.

Expected behavior
A shortcode, typed or pasted, should pull up the app with an install button and/or other options.
