NoneType error when training with my own dataset #312

I've tried to run the code with my own very small dataset (40 images with 40 VOC-format annotations) just to see if it works. But I get the same error

which I believe my images are not imported properly somehow?
I tried same model and weight with VOC2007 data and it worked perfect.
Could anyone provide me a guidance to solve this issue? It would be much appreciated.
