I don't understand why we append an all-zero frame here. https://github.com/tensorflow/lingvo/blob/master/lingvo/tasks/asr/input_generator.py#L149 Does anyone know?

I asked around, and got this
It improves WSJ / LibriSpeech for LAS as it tell the model explicitly, "end of utterance", in the early days. But for RNNT and later improved LAS model, it make no difference. We keep it just as consistent with old setup.
