Some Wrong Translations #172
Comments
At the moment we are planning to only support the version with simplified Chinese.
|
And, I've found more small issues:
|
And more now: |
I mean the page when searching with some key words that can't give any results. |
Will be fixed in the next update
I didn't understand this point. Why we can't use "尝试更改查询" in this case? In translation this means "Try to change query". I didn't understand why we need change "query" to "the key word" |
In short, there isn't any word in Chinese that can reflects what "query" actually means. When it comes to your translation, "查询" a verb, and it's seldom used as a noun with a meaning of the way you search for sth. You can choose the word you want to use: "问题"(n.): |
I think, there should be at least 2 kinds of Chinese, the Simplifies Chinese and the Traditional Chinese. Some of the characters they use are different. Although Chinese people can recognize both of them, I think it's better to devide them.
But now, they are mixed in the same page.
In https://symbl.cc/cn/alphabets/, https://symbl.cc/cn/unicode/blocks/ with "按字母顺序"("Alphabetically"),(maybe there're more) the categories are a mess, and characters aren't labelled with what Chinese people usually use. Usually, we Chinese classify something with pinyin, for example, "巴""布""八" have the same initial consonant "b", so they are devided into "B" category, instead of three diffenent catagories.
And, there are some wrong translations (some are proper nouns), such as:
”block(s)“ should be "块", instead of "街区"
"script(s)"(when used alone) should be "文字", instead of "着作"
"writing system"->”书写系统“
Due to time limit, I can just point out few of it now. If I'm free, I will update here later.
