I have many small notes that serve as reference material, that I then join into new notes/essays via embedding their links. I would love to be able to convert these embedded links into actual text that can be edited and stored as a permanent new note.

It's definitely doable, but I'd wait more opinions on this one before implementing it.

What you could try as a workaround is to switch to preview, select all content via cmd/ctrl + a and use Paste HTML as Markdown command.

Perhaps some links can be messed up in this case 🤔.

That's an interesting thought - it seems to work fairly well! But links don't work, as you pointed out. Those could be fixed manually, but perhaps its something that could be done automatically eventually? What other sorts of opinions would you like?

If it would be useful for other users as well. A few more 👍 would be good.

I would also use this feature. I could see it being implemented as a command Expand embedded notes (or something).

One could create a new document that looks like:

![[note 1]]

![[note 2]]

![[note 3]]

Then run Expand embedded notes which would result in:

Contents of note 1

Contents of note 2

Contents of note 3

Another nice feature would be able to export the note, with the content of the embedded notes included, to html or pdf. The preview renders the embedded notes beautifully but I would like to be able to get the preview saved as html or pdf as well.
