Where is Official Maintained Code? #143

There is enough branches and comments, that I can't tell which one is the currently official maintained code. Please point that out and update docs to point to the official maintained code. I'm going to post another real issue next, but if someone responds to this, I will move the issue to the correct location if this is not it.

Originally the stable branch was the master branch. The 2.0-dev branch was created to make the code object oriented so we could eventually add unit tests (which I started but never finished) and to make the project extensible. The goal was once that branch became stable we would merge it back into master. Looking at the releases it looks like the last release was made using the 2.0-dev branch.
