After an identify task, I go through and manually double check the scenes and delete the metadata for incorrectly identified ones. However I can't find a way to delete the cover image using the UI, only an option to replace it by adding image by URL or by file.

Describe the solution you'd like
On the "edit" page/tab of a video. please include a button to delete/reset cover image to default/null. Similar to the minus button next to existing URLs, or the trash button next to stash IDs.

As an alternative to "replace it by adding image by URL or by file" you can also click ... and select Generate default cover.

You can also achieve that in bulk, by selecting scenes in the Scenes page > clicking ... > Generate > and check Scene cover option.

I'm aware of that. Sometimes when tagging I make a mistake or misclick and accept a video with the wrong information. Having no thumbnail at all is just an easy visual indicator to me that metadata needs to be added/changed manually.

After I fill metadata/tag all I can with official information, Then I go and generate thumbnails for all the one-time, has no data, webcam shows or clips or whatever.

My feature request is to have a way to return the thumbnail image to the null value through the UI. When I said default I meant the place holder "play" symbol with the transparent background rather than a generated one. I put cover in the first post, but I now realise the term used in the app is thumbnail. -- so for scenes, not the front/back image for movies.

I think he's asking for a way to delete scene covers, as if they weren't generated at all, where the placeholder holder image for non-generated thumbnails is displayed.

Basically:

  • Detail view page > Overflow icon > Delete scene cover
  • Grid page > Select item(s) > Edit > Modal window> Delete scene cover(s) checkbox
