the visualization tab of shinystan should have an option to show how the Markov Chain moves, perhaps using different colors for the different chains, in two or three dimensions (with one dimension usually being lp__). I am thinking that one point would show up at a time (perhaps with a half second pause) big and bold at first and then have its point shrunk along with more transparency once the next point comes up.
