Hello friend!

You probably know a bit about me and what I do, but I will sum it up here a bit if you are a new acquaitance!

I have been an active open source developer for 10 years. I used to work on astronomy software, that branched into storage engines. I live and work in Prague.

My primary work is centered around MapDB, storage engine for JVM. Take java collections, replace backend with memory mapped file add some sugar like transactions... you get the idea.

This project started in year 1999 under name JDBM, I took over in 2010. MapDB showed great promise and initial popularity. However life happens and I was unable to give it as much attention as it would deserve in past few years.

MapDB is an open source project (Apache2) and my passion. However my primary job is to do consulting around storage backends, and there is not always enough energy left for open source side.

Sponsorship would give me more time to focus on MapDB as open source project. I would have more time to write documentation, check mailing lists, merge pull requests... It would smoothen MapDB operation, pull requests would not get stuck etc..
