Hey, I'm Jamie! 👋

I love everything Android. I'm a Technical Lead for the mobile team at Sharesies, stepping back into code after having spent the past two years in a Principal-level role, as well as a Google Developer Expert for Android. I'm based in Wellington, New Zealand 🥝

Outside of work, I spend time streaming and making YouTube videos for those looking to learn Android, at a level analogous to working in industry. Android has been a passion of mine for the past decade, starting out in the custom ROM space trying to squeeze the most out of a Samsung Galaxy Mini, progressing to leading multiple teams working on apps used by millions.

The goal of what I do is to help people develop there skills in Android to a point where entry level roles are easily attainable, and to continue to grow all the way through to senior developers. Along the way I'll work on projects with the intention of bringing them to production scale, showing the ins-and-outs of building and deploying apps in a scalable way.

Sponsorship is important to me, as it allows me to spend more time doing the streaming, editing the videos, and engaging with the community. The dream would be to reduce my hours in my full time employment, and commit a full day or two per week to this vision!
