I write software that embraces what the modern web is best at. I hope my work makes it more accessible and open in doing so.

My biggest open source project is Starboard: a fully in-browser literal notebook similar to Jupyter notebook. It's a tool for sharable, hackable and portable documents that mix text and code, perfect for interactive articles, prototyping and tutorials. It's open source here.

Also I developed and co-run FriendlyCaptcha a user and privacy-friendly alternative to Google ReCAPTCHA and a few other open source libraries such as the Sunder framework and the Go-to-Typescript transpiler tygo.

Sponsorship allows me to keep working on open source on the side and not compromise on the value that Starboard and other projects hopefully bring to a more open and accessible internet.

I recently decided to pursue building Starboard full-time and so far am paying for everything myself. While this goal amount is still well below minimum wage in the UK, it does go a long way towards at least covering rent and making this decision sustainable.
