Hi! 🙂

My name is Guilherme Humberto Jansen ('Gui' for short). I am a Computer Scientist deeply inspired by theoretical computing, with a crush on open-source and fascinated by Cybernetics.

While pursing my degree, I discovered John von Neumann's Theory of Self-Reproducing Automata, and I felt deeply inspired by it. Given the depth of this subject and its dependency on the concept of Cellular Automata, I
studied authors such as Arthur W. Burks, Stephen Wolfram, Andrew Ilachinski, Harold V. McIntosh, Joel L. Schiff and created a Cellular Automata Simulator for my BSc. degree defense. Today, this project is open-source and available at https://github.com/ghjansen/cas. In later private research, my fallback to the roots of Theory of Self-Reproducing Automata led me to Cybernetics, which became my way of life. ❤️

I am always exploring and contributing to CAS, just like other projects as well, so that I fulfil my creativity, passion and curiosity for getting involved in topics like this. It becomes even more rewarding to know that somebody in the community may share these values, or benefit from the results I produced through them. I have many ideas and I am always open to talk about new ones, constantly looking for ways to make them come to life. 💡
