Full stack JavaScript developer in the making.

I'm a late bloomer when it comes to learning about my interest in computer programming. I attended undergrad and grad school for an unrelated government field. Currently working full-time in that field, and hoping to eventually tie in JavaScript with civic tech focused websites and applications.

Casually (and maybe eventually sustainably), I'm interested in creating websites and mobile apps for reference, entertainment and communication purposes. For example, apps that will allow gamers to improve their experience with their favorite games. I will also contribute to open-source projects on GitHub.

Originally from New Jersey now living in San Diego with my family. Full-time unrelated employment and full-time home life can make it difficult to remain consistent with my developer aspirations but I make it work.

Working on a Full Stack Cloud Developer professional certificate from IBM/edX as of April 2022.

Reaching this goal will allow me to enroll in online programs to obtain recognized certifications that would assist my marketability in the future. This would be a great benefit since my educational background is unrelated to computer science/programming. This goal amount is based on the low to mid average of monthly costs for online learning and certification platforms such as egghead.io, Coursera, LinkedIn, edX, etc. It will also help alleviate the cost of subscription-based services for developing software, web hosting, domains, services like Heroku, Digital Ocean, etc., and LinkedIn Premium or similar for job prospects.
