Hi there. I am Delip Rao. I am an AI researcher, but I do many things, including writing and teaching. I live in the US, and I think our universities are broken in how they prepare students for the real world. After working for large companies, such as Google, Twitter, and Amazon, and numerous tech startups and running my own startup, I am on a quest to make technical education in AI relevant to the workplace.

With a similar ideal, I wrote a book on Natural Language Processing and Deep Learning, the first book ever to use PyTorch. Despite being popular & used in university curricula, I don't think the book was accessible to many due to my choice of going with a traditional publisher.

I plan to use a patron-supported open source model for my next education project, hence this sponsorship request. I am working on a new course: Natural Language Processing using Transformers. This course will be available for FREE for anyone to learn.

Frankly, holding myself accountable to a large group of people in public is scary. So why do that? This is a passion project, and passion without accountability is fickle. By accepting sponsors, I am creating that accountability so that I can benefit the wider world for free. Plus, the warm fuzzy feeling I will get knowing that someone out there wants me to succeed in this mission will get me through what will no doubt be exacting work in the months to come.
