AM Winn Public Waldorf Community Guild is our school's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), a registered non-profit supporting AM Winn ek-8 Public Waldorf School in Sacramento, CA. AM Winn is a Title I school in the Sacramento City Unified School District (District), largely serving low-income and otherwise disadvantaged communities. Our hybrid Public Waldorf approach offers students the opportunity to grow both socially and academically on behaviorally appropriate timelines and focuses on developing the whole child through experiential learning.

AmwFund is our digital asset fundraising ecosystem utilizing Open Source Software / Platforms and Blockchain Technology to Bridge these Institutional Funding Gaps in Public Education and shift the educational system from the Ground UP.

The AM Winn Public Funding Conundrum
While our school district realigned some of its core learning standards to better match the Public Waldorf needs, the funding necessary to implement a comprehensive program focused on experiential learning has not kept pace. These funding gaps range from basic supplies and materials all the way to specialty teacher salaries.

The volunteer PTO is the primary fundraising entity charged with supplementing the budget shortfalls driven by our Public Waldorf status. While our local community is hands-on strong with ample volunteer participation and numerous traditional fundraising efforts, we annually fall short of our ever-increasing financial needs. Under the current funding structure, our school is not able to effectively implement many components of our Public Waldorf curriculum, making continuity, integration & innovation even more challenging.

School closures due to COVID-19 have severely impacted our traditional, on-site fundraising efforts. Based on recent years' efforts, we are projected to lose approx. 45% of our annual fundraising budget due to cancelled events. Now more than ever, we are relying on AmwFund's OSS & DLT implementations to bolster our school's financial future.
