Hey there! I'm the creator of Bevy Engine, a refreshingly simple open-source data-driven game engine built in Rust.

I need your help to make Bevy development sustainable! I quit my Senior Software Engineer job at Microsoft to work on Bevy full time. Without sponsorship, I have to pay my living expenses out of pocket, which isn't sustainable. I want to make developing and leading Bevy a viable long term career. By supporting me, you enable me to:

• Build Bevy: I generally focus on building out "core and foundational engine features". I'm currently wrapping up a new professional-grade asset system for Bevy and I'm starting to shift gears into building a new scene and UI system (these build on each other). As soon as these start becoming usable, I will break ground on the much anticipated visual Bevy Editor.
• Serve as Project Lead: As Project Lead I provide technical and architectural direction, resolve technical disputes, manage the community, run the Bevy Org, represent the project in public places (online and in person), and do the never ending job of "making sure everything runs smoothly". Much of this is difficult and draining work that I don't enjoy doing. But it is critical for Bevy's success.

I invest so much of myself into this project and yet I do not monetize it in any way. I sacrifice my time, my mental health, and my career trajectory like an entrepreneur. And yet unlike the owner of a for-profit company, I am not directly compensated for success. Sponsorships are currently the one way I make money.
