Hello! My name's Ashley, or Ash for short 👋

About Me

I'm a Computer Science graduate from the University of Arizona. Since 2015, I've been a full-time developer on an open-source project called CyVerse, or more specifically on the Discovery Environment. I've really enjoyed being able to work on a project that allows me to feel a sense of my impact on the science community and I'd love to expand my open-source contributions and personal projects to serve other communities ❤️ (and tinker with some of my own interests, of course)

My Work

To date, most of my work has been towards CyVerse repositories. My focus on this project has largely been on the front-end - adding features to the code base for the Discovery Environment's UI, and helping to rebuild and modernize the UI from scratch in React.

On the side, I'm building up my own blog platform specifically catered to wine blogging. I tried to do some wine blogging in the past with some hosted and some self-hosted tools out there, but I could never find the right set of provided features that would make it powerful and flexible. So now I'm building my own from scratch 😄

My Plans

I want to continue working on the wine blog for my own personal interests, but I have other ideas that could be great additions to the open-source community. Tools for learning or visualizing CSS, tracking stocks, and I also have a LOT of ideas around calorie tracking and taking that idea and data further.
