Hi, I live in Western Australia and have been a member of the Github community for years!

I work on a few websites that bring together my hobbies of sports (cycling especially 🚴‍♀️) and coding. Where I can fix a bug or add a feature myself, I raise a PR and send it back to the master project.

My first project/repository is https://github.com/adriangibbons/php-fit-file-analysis and it was really cool having people reach-out saying they were using the utility and making suggestions for its improvements. I'm self-taught (like many) so I have learnt a great deal along the way!

Sponsorship takes that support to the next level. A great many hours have been invested by the Github community into providing great software for everyone to use. So sponsorship just makes your appreciation explicit and is a nice gesture to contribute to folk's running costs.
