The Hague, Netherlands

Besides a father, I’m a designer, artist, developer, and small business owner from The Hague, The Netherlands. Since I was little, I’ve had an insatiable urge to create.

Whenever I learn something new, I think to myself “that is cool, but what if…” and then try to find out if that thing exists, and when it doesn’t (which is surprisingly often), I try to create it, not being scared to break conventions, or merge fields of study. Actually, I don’t just try, but usually make it happen. Because I can get quite passionate about these things. My motto is “create new things, and having a reason for doing so is largely overrated.”

This has resulted in crazy projects like allRGB, Default.style (don’t worry, that page is not broken; you are looking at a stylesheet), Mimesia Church, Netplasticism, Periodic System of The Elements, Utterly Random, and many, many, many smaller projects, and artworks. Plus, I almost never say “no” when a client has an idea: I make things work.

Although I don’t mind working for clients, I think it leaves little time and energy to work on projects that are more interesting in a broader sense. If I could somehow find some financial aid for said projects (preferably without cramming everything full of ads, or selling user data), that would be great.

@acjbizar

If I could get 8 sponsors, I would be inspired to focus more on open-source packages, and projects/artworks in the public space. It would not allow me to stop working for clients, but it would be a great insensitive to change direction. Why 8? Reasons!
