Short description:

I'm an independent Bitcoin researcher focused on cybersecurity and privacy.
I contribute to various Bitcoin projects, currently to Wasabi Wallet and BTCPay Server.
My main contributions in Bitcoin open source projects are related to the business growth, information security and digital marketing. I take care of the general aspects of operations, information and cyber security, marketing, communication and management. My experience as a developer and tester also allows me to contribute to the code and documentation of various projects.
I'm also actively educating on Bitcoin, security and privacy around Italy, via online appearances and offline events.

Objectives:

  • Contribute to the growth, development and marketing of the most promising projects in the Bitcoin ecosystem
  • Increase the adoption of bitcoins by Italian merchants thanks to a hosted payment processor, open-source, secure, private, censorship-resistant and free. (Currently hosting 1600+ users)
  • Publish a free and in-depth series of articles and videos on Bitcoin and Lightning Network Security and Privacy issues.
  • Organize and participate in various Bitcoin speeches and workshops
  • Support users on Bitcoin issues through the Telegram groups.
  • Contribute to the Bitcoin network with multiple nodes
  • Contribute to the Lightning Network with an high-end routing node
  • Contribute to the Tor network through a guard / middle relay.
  • Contribute to the Nym network testnet throught a mixnode

Brief description of the project

Hi, I'm Riccardo Masutti and I'm an independent Bitcoin researcher focused on cybersecurity and privacy. For several years, my passion on these issues has led me to publish several articles in Italian and English, participate in a dozen events as a speaker and contribute to open-source projects in the Bitcoin world such as BTCPay Server, Wasabi Wallet, Mastering Bitcoin and many others.

I have always found Bitcoin fascinating because it is revolutionizing the way we conceive the concepts of finance, money and value.
Thanks to Bitcoin we are able to exchange value via the Internet without intermediaries through a transparent ledger, the blockchain in fact; but this has a decidedly high cost:

That we ourselves are responsible for our security and financial privacy.

Many people underestimate these aspects because they do not understand that Bitcoin, being a totally transparent system based on the concept of decentralization, greatly increases the possibility of being victims of theft and invasion of privacy if no precautions are taken.

Why donate?

First of all, to help me working full-time on Free and Open Source Bitcoin projects. Second, to support my multiple high-end nodes (including the BTCPay Server monthly management costs, which are around 120eur/month).
The latter could potentially help manage orders, billing and payments from thousands of companies or individuals who decide to accept bitcoin.
The more this free service catches on, the more it will need to scale, increasing costs day by day.

Secondly, to allow me to continue contributing to the various projects that I follow. Specifically, I help Bitcoin's open source projects on the growth, marketing, security and privacy side. Currently I'm contributing and educating on Wasabi Wallet and BTCPay Server.

What impact it could have

Every year hundreds of millions of dollars are lost in Bitcoin, starting from sophisticated cyber attacks on computers and exchanges, up to the trivial loss of a seed or a private key. Even more alarming is the data concerning cyber security in general, in fact more 530 cyber attacks occur per second.

To avoid all this it is important that there is correct information on the topic, and not only the typical videos related to Bitcoin trading, to make money from home without doing anything and to the very trivial but now extremely fashionable objective of achieving "Financial Freedom" , perhaps investing in some project or new cryptocurrency, which ends up being a scam or pyramid scheme 99% of the time.

If you decide to contribute to the project, you will write a small piece of Bicoin history. Your contribution will never be forgotten.
