I am a graduate student in Physics at McGill University, developing free and open-source research software since 2014.

My main contributions to the scientific software world are an ecosystem of packages related to ultrafast condensed matter physics. These are not the typical scientist spaghetti code you find in papers; we're talking about documented(!), tested(!!), continuous-integration-ed(!!!) entities meant to be useful and teach a younger generation of scientists how to write software.

This ecosystem consists of the following packages:

  • iris-ued : GUI program to analyze ultrafast electron scattering data. It also includes a plug-in architecture, making it suitable for use in multiple research groups;
  • scikit-ued : library of re-useable functions related to (ultrafast) electron diffraction and scattering;
  • crystals : data structures and algorithms to manipulate crystal structures;
  • npstreams : streaming operations on numpy arrays.

I also write programs that help me in my scientific writing, most importantly pandoc-plot
