Hi,

It seems like Microsoft has made some changes to set default apps. When I try to change the Microsoft-Edge and Microsoft-Edge-Holographic link types to Search Deflector, Search Deflector or any other app is not an option.

I have downloaded the paid version from Microsoft Store, thinking that version may pop up on the list as an option, but still, it did not appear as an option after several restarts of Win11.

Because of this, Win Search still opening in Edge. As this is a special protocol, I was not able to find another way in Win11 to change it, I can only do it from the settings.

I don't know if it is a bug or you just need to share a workaround to set Search Deflector for Microsoft-Edge link types.

I think I've got my answer from Edge Deflector developer, Daniel (aka @da2x). All the Windows Search Deflector solutions are currently K.O. by Microsoft since November 2021.

@spikespaz, you should be transparent about it and update the supported build of Win 10 and 11.

If you're unhappy with anti-consumerism, switch to one of the many good Linux distributions. Drop your PayPal at support-a-t-birkett-d-o-t-dev and I'll give you a refund.
