When printing examples on paper, a lot of the examples are illegible as some characters are too light. You can see this if you print a PDF:

The "{" and ":" and so on are way too light (my printer barely lays down any ink).

Interesting. When you turn off backgrounds on the screen, it still appears readable; I guess the grays just deposit a lot lighter on many printers. Thanks, I'll see about tweaking the colors when printing.
