Ellipsis character after directory

The problem

When I enable spaceship via oh-my-zsh there is what seems to be an ellipsis character (three dots) right after the current directory (see screenshot). Is it possible to remove it and if so, how?

It's an async section indicating the unfinished async jobs. It's introduced in v4.0. Read the announcement here: https://spaceship-prompt.sh/blog/2022-spaceship-v4/

You can remove it by adding this to your configuration:

spaceship remove async

or you can disable async rendering completely:

SPACESHIP_PROMPT_ASYNC=false

I think the issue here was misunderstood. I don't want to disable this feature, it's pretty cool. 👀

The asynchronous jobs never finish, and that's the issue. I have 36 jobs that are always running (seen with SPACESHIP_ASYNC_SHOW_COUNT).

How do I see those jobs?

that's a pretty sweet feature! although it doesn't seem to ever resolve whatever async job(s) it's waiting for.

curious, how'd you determine that? does spaceship prompt have logs?

Ruby is correctly displayed for me when I go into a ruby project on my machine, but I still saw the ellipses 🤷

I had to disable the async behaviour, but if you know how to debug which section is causing the async not to resolve I would love to learn!

How do I find out what my ellipses are waiting for? I don't have any ruby projects...

I suppose one way would be to disable various sections from spaceship-prompt and see which one causes the ellipses to disappear. I haven't tried it myself yet

^^ That is exactly what I did as @cdimitroulas suggested. Just manually looking at the prompt order and going over the list one by one. When I knew it was ruby, I made 3-4 different projects with different ruby versions and ruby installs (rvm, rbenv, native mac install). I kept trying to find the logs, I couldn't.
