Today I learnt Ubuntu uses "ddeb" packages for its debug symbols, and reprepro doesn't support them anyway.
This fork of reprepro does support ddeb packages, so might be worth a look sometime: https://github.com/ionos-cloud/reprepro

Looks like reprepro 5.4.0 has support for .ddeb packages finally, only in experimental so far though.
