source directory selection error

if I use the 'change path' button to select the source directory I get the following resulting command
rysnc -rzptu /storage/emulated/0/DCIM/Camera rysnc://@<ip>:873/moduleName

the result though is as if the following command has been executed...
rysnc -rzptu / rysnc://@<ip>:873/moduleName
the effect is that the entire operating system, all files and dir, are uploaded.

OS is Android 7.1.1
Allowing the user to manually edit the filepath would help,

Hello, You can edit the path after selecting a path with the 'change path' button. Also can you try please to add a user to the rsync module? Best regards, Socrates

I set up a user rsyncclient with password 12345 for testing
Log shows 'permission denied'
It would be useful to show where and how to input the password for a user, I can't see one.

Hi, You cannot use a password with an rsync daemon but a secrets file. You have to create a secrets file and store the user credentials in it. Then you add its path in the rsync daemon configuration file. Check the rsyncd documentation for info. Best regards, Socrates

I'm having the same issue as @RupertNewton
No matter what folder I select, it seams like the whole filesystem is synced.
Android version 8.0.0
Phone not rooted.
