Description of the problem

Here is a GitHub project with code and instructions for reproducing the bug: https://github.com/alexcoplan/smlnj-bug

It is fairly simple to reproduce. Simply compiling an SML program using CM where the program calls CM.sources
is sufficient to reproduce the bug.
