Sometimes when entering a new area, or after a cutscene ends (thus loading an area), the game will freeze. It seems inconsistent, and sometimes if you switch to another form of Link before entering a new area that would crash the game, it won't crash.
One example is entering the Pirate's Fortress cutscene - whenever I would walk into it as Zora Link, the game would crash, but if I took the mask off first and entered as human, it would be fine. Another, which I'll detail more below and provide a save state for, is dumping the Deku Princess out in front of her father - after the cutscene where the monkey is freed completes and you regain control of Link, the game crashes. These are just two examples, and I've had this happen in many other loading zones.
Something else I've noticed (not sure if it's related, but it's a bug nonetheless) is that whenever the game is running, there is a flickering blue line on screen. This is most noticeable when booting the game up, at the black N64 screen, but it's always present. See screenshots 1 and 2 below.
The play through I'm doing is on the 1.0 version of Japanese Majora's Mask. The flickering line is also present on the 1.1 (rev A) version. I haven't checked if the crashes happen on that version.
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:
Extract the save state from the attached ZIP file and put it in the relevant folder found here: %APPDATA%\Mupen64Plus\save
Load the 1.0 ROM for Japanese Majora's Mask and load the state (it's in slot 0)
Press C-down to dump the Deku Princess out and let the cutscene play
When the game gives you control of Link, it will freeze, as in screenshot 3 below.
Expected behaviour:
The game should resume as normal after the cutscene / going through a loading zone without freezing. I've tested the North American (U) Majora's Mask ROM, and nothing like this (including the flickering line) happens there.
