Describe the bug:

As title. I've installed the drivers and ALSA config. I've tried both full and lite versions of raspbian. Whilst my very old stretch install from years back allowed the voice hat volume to be controlled via alsamixer, it no longer seems the case. Whilst mic and speakers both work, I'm unable to lower the volume - it just bellows like a mad thing at me when I ask it a perfectly civil question. alsamixer says there are no controls for the voice hat...."This sound device does not have any controls"
