  • Which Linux distribution is recommended to run Sheepdog when using it ONLY for QEMU/KVM block storage?

  • Is 192GB of RAM and 16 Cores enough for a single Sheepdog server with 256TB of SSD storage when using it ONLY for QEMU/KVM block storage?

Instead of asking "is 192GB of RAM and 16 Cores enough (or too much)", I'd like to ask "whats the recommended amount of RAM and CPU cores when using a sheepdog cluster with 256TB of SSD storage to serve 112 virtual machines who will be using volumes ranging from 4gb to 16tb?

don't use sheepdog it not maintained anymore. use ceph
